Helen is a 72-year-old living in the suburbs of Toronto. Currently, she lives alone as her husband has passed away and her son has moved out. She loves to knit, go on walks and bake.

However, because of her age, she has been lacking the energy to do some of these activities. She also finds herself occasionally struggling in day-to-day tasks.

After my husband passed away and my son moved out to start his own family, I’ve been living alone by myself.

It was fine before, but recently I have had a hard time remembering things. I guess my age is finally catching up to me.

Today’s a great day! I feel like cooking… uh what’s it called again? s- strawberry? strudel? no… s- steak!

Why is my apron in the fridge?

Hmm... what side dish should I make?

Ding dong!

Who is it? I’m coming!

Oh my goodness, Jerry!

What brings you here? Don’t you have work?

I’m happy to see Jerry hasn’t forgotten about his old mother

I had some time on hand so I figured I would come by and see how you’re doing mom

Oh gosh, you didn’t
have to! I know how busy you are

Look at how skinny you’ve gotten, you’re just in time
for lunch, stay for a meal before you leave

Hello?

Hello, am I speaking to Jerry? I’m Helen’s doctor, I just wanted to remind you to make an appointment to bring Helen in soon, I need to check her condition

... Alright we’ll come in soon

After his initial visit,
Jerry has been coming over all the time. It’s
so nice being able to
spend time with him

longrectangle.png

While he’s here, I’ve been teaching him how to cook some of his childhood favourites

longrectangle.png

He’s also been helping me with gardening!
The plants just started budding too

longrectangle.png

We also go on walks to the park as well

longrectangle.png

I’ve been worried about him, so I took it upon myself to help him out a bit

I just want him to be able to live happily

Hello, am I speaking to Jerry? I’m Helen’s doctor, I just wanted to remind you to make an appointment to bring Helen in soon, I need to check her condition

Okay okay! I’ll pay it back before the end of the week

Jerry called me today, telling me he had something important to say.

longrectangle.png

I’m glad he’s finally opening up to me again. I hope it isn’t a big issue....

What did you want to tell me Jerry? I’m all ears

I just wanted to thank you for everything these past few months.

It was really nice being able to spend time with you, and I’ve realized how important you are to me as a mother figure

Oh Jerry...

Which is why I have to tell you the truth even more...

My name’s Adam,
I’m actually not your -

Bang!

Who are you?!
Why are you impersonating me?!

No... I, I....

Get out of here before I call the cops!

Adam is my friend! He’s not a bad kid!

Friend?? I bet he’s just tricking you to steal your money!

Jerry told me to move in with him and his family so they can take care of me better

longrectangle.png

He said my Alzheimer’s is getting worse, so its safe that I live with him

longrectangle.png

But before I knew it...

...Ms. Miller, its time for lunch

longrectangle.png

Jerry sold the house to cover his debts and moved me into a care home instead

longrectangle.png

I... I never even got a chance to properly say goodbye to Adam...

I hope he is doing well...
